We are looking for a Senior Architect with a minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably with work experience in documentation phases on cultural, mixed-use, and high-rise projects in China. You will be based in our New York studio, but will travel to China on a regular basis.
This role requires written and oral fluency in Mandarin.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Partner-in-Charge and Project Manager on design aspects, operations, risk management, contractual, and others matters.
- Liaise with clients and consultants when required, to drive discussions to a resolution.
- Strategically design timelines and work-plans.
- Proactively deal with risk assessment and management.
- To support, advise, direct and educate all design processes from a technical and buildability perspective.
- To support the project team to develop planning and detailing solutions that align with the design intent.
- Lead coordination efforts with consultants.
- Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials
- Providing technical guidance and innovative solutions to help resolve complex technical and design challenges
- Contribute as required to the Design Reviews.
- Be flexible and available to operate in multiple time zones.
Essential skills:
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English and Mandarin - spoken and written
- Significant contributions to an extremely well documented and coordinated drawing set
- Excellent ability in Revit, Rhino, Adobe Suite. Grasshopper and Enscape is a plus
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines on budget and on time
- A keen eye for attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative in response to direction from project managers, directors and partners '
- A team player, with a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and collaborating
- Taking responsibility of aspects of the design and guiding other team members in resolving planning, detailing and design questions
Experience and qualifications:
- Professional qualifications as an Architect or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in all design phases, including construction documents, and construction administration with site supervision
- Preferably experience with large complex architectural programs

Base Compensation: $100,000 - $135,000
(The salary offered will be based on the length and relevance of the candidate's work history and the skills developed through their professional experiences.)
