BIG NYC is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Interior Architect/Designer with FF&E (Furniture, fixtures, and equipment) who will work together with our Partners and teams to develop inspiring interior design and hospitality projects from concept through execution. From mood boards and layouts to material specification and details, you will lead the development of strong conceptual narratives and ideas. The ideal candidate has an independent voice that will evolve our Interior Design expertise and team at BIG.
Qualifications:
- Professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture
- 8+ years of post-graduate experience as an Interior Designer or Architect, ideally in Hospitality and high-end residential
- Commercial and residential project experience; hospitality, educational, and cultural experience is a plus
- Proven expertise in FF&E specifications, space planning, and millwork design
- Extensive knowledge of FF&E selection, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of buildings and other structures.
- Strong AutoCAD, V-Ray, Rhino, and Adobe Suite skills. (Revit is a major plus)
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and self-manage time
- Experience with built and published projects
- Knowledge of industry practices, local codes, and construction details
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
- AIA/NCIDQ licensure and/or LEED certification are assets
Responsibilities:
- Creating interior design concepts and strategies
- Engaging with clients and presenting design direction
- Working closely with design teams, Project Managers, and Partners
- Supporting Design team with material sourcing and specification
- Taking initiative and developing design options in response to direction from Leadership
- Preparing and editing drawings as they relate to projects
- Coordinating with external stakeholders and/or clients

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - 120,000 depending on experience.
