Intermediate Interior Designer with FF&E Experience
BIG NYC is looking for a creative and experienced Interior Designer with FF&E (Furniture, fixtures, and equipment) to join our team, focusing on innovative and inspiring hospitality projects. This role will be pivotal in shaping interiors that combine functionality with bold design narratives, from concept development through execution. From space planning and FF&E selections to collaborating with consultants and clients, you’ll play a hands-on role in delivering exceptional projects!
 
Requirements:
  • Professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture 
  • 4+ years of post-graduate experience as an Interior Designer or Architect, ideally in Hospitality and high-end residential
  • Commercial and residential project experience; hospitality, educational, and cultural experience is a plus 
  • Knowledgeable in materials, millwork design, furniture, and FF&E specifications 
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, V-Ray, Rhino, and Adobe Suite skills.  (Revit is a major plus) 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and self-manage time 
  • Experience with built and published projects is highly valued
  • Knowledge of industry practices, local codes, and construction details 
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English 
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment 
  • AIA/NCIDQ licensure and/or LEED certification are assets 
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate on and contribute to all project phases
  • Assist with the creation of interior design concepts, including FF&E specifications
  • Develop detailed design documentation in response to direction from Leadership using advanced 3D modeling tools
  • Present interior design concepts, strategies, and progress
  • Engage with clients and presenting design direction 
  • Working closely with design teams, Project Managers, and Partners 
  • Preparing and editing drawings as they relate to projects 
  • Coordinating with external stakeholders and/or clients

The salary range for this position is $74,000 - 95,000 depending on experience.
